The Invisible Scanner is a Great tool

Yahoo has a tool that you might find useful when you want to know the scoop of the actual status of your contacts. The invisible scanner can quickly and easily check the true status of your friends, even if they “appear” offline. I must warn you, the invisible scanner may hurt your feelings and cause an ill feeling between you and your contacts if you are overly sensitive. I will explain more about this in a bit.
When you sign into Yahoo Messenger, the current status of each of your contacts is displayed. They are either “available” and online or the status shows “offline”. If you are a regular user of instant messengers then you probably know that you can change your status that is displayed for your contacts. Your choices are – available, busy or invisible to everyone. Yahoo messenger allows you to further customize your status for each contact. If you “right click” on any of your contacts, you can customize your “Stealth Settings” so that you show available to that person or you can choose the show permanently invisible to that person. So how do you know if your contact is hiding from you or if they are really offline, like their status shows?
Using the invisible scanner could not be any easier. Simply go to invisible-scanner.com, find the box near the top of the web page and type in the Yahoo ID that you want to check the status on and click check user. After it checks the true status of your contact, it will display that the Yahoo ID is online, offline or invisible. You also get other information about that contact such as their profile information and their avatar is also shown. You can also download their avatar or choose to send them a message. The invisible scanner is a very simple way to detect your invisible friends. One of the great things about the invisible scanner is that there is absolutely no software to download.
If one of your contacts shows as online on Yahoo Messenger, but the invisible scanner says that they are offline, that means that person has the “allow websites to show when I am online” disabled. Meaning that sites like Yahoo Mail or Yahoo Games will show the status as “offline”.
Okay, you’ve come to the part that I warned you about earlier. When you are signed into your instant messenger and your status is “online”, and you see that your contact is “offline”, but the invisible scanner is showing that contact is “online” that means that person as chosen to “appear permanently offline” to you and invisible only too you. Before you rush to judgments, your contact may have a legitimate reason.
You can check invisible Ids from Webmessenger, eBuddy, Pidgin, Meebo and of course Yahoo. You are also allowed to check a maximum of 50 inquires in a 12 hour period using the same IP address.
